Berlin (dpa) - The start-up initiative "Wir für Digitisierung" has spoken out against an exclusive introduction of the Luca app for nationwide contact tracking in the corona pandemic.

"A uniform solution can only be doomed to failure, also with a view to the experience with the Corona warning app", explained Jan Kus, managing director of Railslove GmbH, which offers a competing solution to the Luca app with the Recover app .

On Monday, the federal states want to make a decision on a nationwide app for digitally tracking contacts.

This should then be used in all countries.

The Luca app is the preferred solution.

The initiative strives for a “collaborative, open and common interface” to which all contact data acquisition systems could be connected, including Luca.

The contact data from the various recording solutions could then be transmitted to the systems of the health authorities via a uniform interface for tracking.

The Luca app had attracted a lot of attention in the past few weeks.

The system was co-developed by the musician Smudo from the Fantastischen Vier.

"I am convinced that Luca, in combination with tests, the Corona app and the AHA rules, will lead us into an increasingly normal life," said Smudo of the German press agency.

"For us this is a real opening strategy."

During a TV appearance on “Anne Will” on Sunday, Smudo made it clear that he does not think it makes sense to use different contact recording apps next to each other.

Building a gateway doesn't help.

"Then FC Bayern comes with its app - or a hotel from the other side with its hotel app."

So you can't find out whether a person who tested positive and who was in the stadium may have been in a restaurant beforehand.

According to their own statements, the start-ups of the “Wir für Digitisierung” initiative began developing solutions for digital contact tracking back in May 2020.

In addition to Railslove, the providers also include Gastident, eGuest, Kontakteraufnahme.de, Smartmeeting and zulichrein.de.

So far, around 8.5 million digital check-ins have already been carried out and documented with tens of thousands of customers.
