President Moon Jae-in approved the dismissal of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol at around 11:20 am today (5th).



Former President Yoon submitted his resignation yesterday in protest against the establishment of the Severe Crime Investigation Office for his passport, and President Moon accepted the appreciation of former President Yoon yesterday.



Until the successor of the prosecutor general is appointed, the prosecution system will be operated by the deputy chief prosecutor Nam-gwan Cho.



With President Moon's approval of his dismissal today, the Ministry of Justice is expected to form a successor prosecutor general recommendation committee.
