Michel Platini, former French boss of European football, affirms "not to forbid himself" a return to sporting responsibilities and defends the attribution of the World Cup-2022 to Qatar, Friday in an interview with the German daily Die Welt.

The triple Golden Ball has been targeted since 2015 by a Swiss justice procedure for a suspicious payment of 2 million Swiss francs by Sepp Blatter, then president of Fifa.

He has since been excluded from all sporting responsibilities.

Does he think of a possible return?

"Let me first think about it in peace, there is no rush," replied the former UEFA president.

"I'm not forbidding myself. If I think it's good for football and that I can still be useful, then I will fully commit to it," Platini adds, adding that "then this will be the last time".

"Otherwise, I will stay at home and continue my retirement."

The former French international is once again defending the attribution of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar, which he supported when he was in charge, even if since then he says he has had "only problems on his hands".

Was this award a "good decision"?

"Of course," Platini replies.

"The Arab countries have already applied ten times to host the World Cup. It is important for the development of football and that is exactly why I voted for them, provided that the world takes place in December, which will be the case, ”he explains.

"I expect a very good World Cup, at 25 degrees, the air conditioning will not be necessary", wants to believe the former boss of European football.

"My only regret is that I was too nice, too transparent, because I said openly that I voted for Qatar. I am the only one of the fifteen who admitted it, and I did not have trouble since, "regrets the former playmaker of the Blues.
