Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - North Rhine-Westphalia currently has a good 50 star restaurants.

Even in the pandemic, chefs had demonstrated “courage and ingenuity” under difficult conditions, according to the Michelin Guide for 2021. In the top league with still four top positions in North Rhine-Westphalia, nothing changes compared to the previous year.

But there is some movement among the 48 restaurants that are allowed to adorn themselves with a star - and Dortmund stands out positively.

Because three gourmet restaurants won one of the coveted awards there.

The only three-star restaurant in North Rhine-Westphalia - under ten nationwide - remains the “Vendôme” in Bergisch Gladbach.

And three of Germany's 41 two-star restaurants are still in North Rhine-Westphalia: These are “Ox & Klee” and “Le Moissonnier” in Cologne and “Rosin” in Dorsten by TV chef Frank Rosin.

In the edition for 2021, the restaurant guide honored chefs in NRW 48 times with one star each.

As a newcomer, Dortmund can see where “the tailor”, the “Iuma” and “Grammons Restaurant” have received new awards.

The "Palmgarten" kept its star - so that four restaurateurs in the Ruhr area town can now decorate themselves with a star.

Ten restaurants in Düsseldorf received a gourmet star.

With eleven excellent restaurants, Cologne is just ahead of the game.

Green stars - awarded for the first time in 2020 - went to North Rhine-Westphalia twice: The trophy for sustainable gastronomic action was given to the “Seegarten” in Sundern.

And “Anthony's Kitchen” in Meerbusch was honored twice and now has a “normal” and a “green” star at the same time.
