Celle (dpa) - He just got a little thicker during the Corona restrictions - with this story of lies, a 26-year-old in the Lower Saxony city of Celle tried to avoid a penalty for driving without a driver's license.

The man gave the officers a driver's license with a photo that showed a man who was 20, 30 kilograms lighter, said a police spokesman.

As it turned out, it was his brother's four-year-old brother's license.

The 26-year-old was reported.

According to the police, the man was checked in Celle on Wednesday.

He therefore claimed that he had a driver's license.

But it's at home.

Once there, he could not show his driver's license, allegedly he had "misplaced" it, the police said.

On Thursday, he finally came to the police station with his brother's driver's license and the excuse that he was so externally transformed for lack of sport and activities during the lockdown.

The officers noticed, however, that he was pretending to be someone else.

"It just didn't fit," said a police spokesman.

"At some point he collapsed."

The brother did not know anything about the action of the 26-year-old.

He was not thrilled when he found out about it, said the police spokesman.

The 26-year-old is being investigated for driving without a license - in two cases: because of the drive before the inspection and the one home after the inspection.

He is also accused of misusing identity documents.

On the way he had apparently been in the car of a 36-year-old friend.

He is now accused of having allowed driving without a driver's license.
