Erfurt (dpa / th) - The Greens parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament reacted to an idea from Erfurt's mayor to open the retail trade in the city on a trial basis in connection with rapid tests.
"As much as the desire for open deals is understandable, responsibility is simply different," criticized the parliamentary group leader Astrid Rothe-Beinlich on Friday.
In addition, rapid tests are not a carte blanche to be able to act carelessly.
Avoiding contact is also crucial.
The economic policy spokesman Olaf Müller added: "A calculable risk, as Mr. Bausewein calls it, does not exist in my opinion." Here, Russian roulette is played with people who longingly wait for relaxation and then rely on the statements of a mayor, "said Müller: "If the shops in the surrounding area remain closed, it will lead to a two-tier society when shopping between Erfurt and the rest of Thuringia."
That leads to more resentment among the people.
Erfurt's Lord Mayor Andreas Bausewein (SPD) had previously proposed an opening experiment in the Thuringian capital: On one Friday and Saturday in a row, shops should open for residents to shop.
In order to make this possible in the pandemic, residents who are willing to buy should be examined for the virus in test centers set up for this purpose in the city using corona rapid tests provided free of charge by the city.
If the test results were negative, they would receive a ribbon like the one common at festivals.
These would be like the entrance ticket to go shopping in the shops in compliance with hygiene and distance rules without prior notice.
The prerequisite for this “experiment with a calculable risk”, as Bausewein called it, would be the approval of the state and a non-dramatic infection situation in the city.

Across Thuringia, the number of known new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the past seven days, according to the Robert Koch Institute, was 129. Thuringia has long been the most severely affected state.
In Erfurt the value on Friday was around 77 - the day before it was 72.
