"The synchronization process is reaching the finish line - in 2022 the IES of Ukraine will separate from the energy systems of Russia and Belarus and go into an isolated mode of operation," Vitrenko quotes the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as saying at an online meeting with Lithuanian Energy Minister Dainius Kreivis.

According to him, then, in 2023, there will be full synchronization with ENTSO-E.

It also clarifies that joining ENTSO-E will help ensure the demonopolization of the electricity market in Ukraine.

On December 16, 2020, the Ukrainian government decided to withdraw the country from agreements with the CIS in the energy sector.
