Freden (dpa / lni) - Hikers discovered a partially skeletonized corpse in a forest near Freden in the Hildesheim district.
The site was examined by the police in the presence of a forensic doctor on Thursday, the officials said on Friday.
According to the current state of the investigation, the dead man is a middle-aged man.
His identity and the circumstances of his death are still unclear.
According to police, further examinations were planned after the autopsy on Friday.
The investigators do not want to inform about the result until next week.
