Nuremberg / Düsseldorf (dpa / lby) - Despite the recent weakness of Fortuna Düsseldorf, 1. FC Nuremberg is preparing for a tricky away game in the 2nd Bundesliga in the Rhineland.
“It's going to be a really big challenge, there's a board waiting for us,” said “Club” trainer Robert Klauss before the game on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky).
After the last four points from two games, the Nuremberg want to be successful again and increase the distance to the relegation zone.
Düsseldorf has only won one of seven games since mid-January and lost touch with the top.
The Nürnberger have to do without striker Robin Hack after his ligament rupture in the Bundesliga relegated and also replace the yellow-banned captain Enrico Valentini.
For the veteran Oliver Sorg is planned on the right side of the defense, announced Klauß.
A comeback by Felix Lohkemper became less likely.
The striker, who had been out of action in December due to adductor problems, trained “well” again this week, but then complained again of complaints.
