Berlin (dpa / lnw) - About a third of daycare educators and teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia have so far made use of the rapid tests offered by the state, according to Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU).

He named this quota in the federal press conference on Friday in Berlin.

Educators and teachers can now voluntarily have themselves tested for Corona up to two times a week.

At the public schools as well as the alternative and recognized supplementary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia, the test offer of the state, which has been extended to two tests per week, applies from February 15 to the last school day before the Easter holidays, March 26.

It can only be used by people who work in classroom teaching.

The testing is usually carried out with the so-called PoC antigen test.

The daycare workers and the child minders have been able to have themselves tested voluntarily up to two times a week since February 15.
