for Spea in 5;

for Pavimental the managing director Franco Tolentino and 4 others;

for Delabech the sole director Riccardo Bernabò Silorata and others 4.

The accusations

The charges are, in addition to manslaughter, for various

reasons

, road homicide, culpable collapse and violation of the safety regulations of the place of work.

What happened

On 9 March 2017, in the early afternoon, on the bridge along the Marche stretch of the A14, near Ancona, a maneuver was in progress to raise an overpass: suddenly, the oblique deck fell on the roadway in the moment in which the car arrived in which there were Emidio Diomede and Antonella Viviani, spouses from Spinetoli (Ascoli Piceno), both died instantly.

The investigation

Two strands of the investigation coordinated by prosecutor Bilotta.

On the one hand, the aim is to establish the causes of the collapse, which according to the technical report was triggered by the collapse of a pillar resting on the old base of the bridge and which supported a jack that raised the overpass.

On the other hand, we want to verify if, for that type of complex operation, all safety standards had been applied and respected, and assessed the opportunity to close that stretch of motorway to vehicle transit while the works were being carried out.
