Moscow hopes that the West will not implement the sanctions scenarios that are replicated by the mainstream media.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publication of the Bloomberg agency that the United States of America and the United Kingdom are working on new anti-Russian restrictive measures.

“Firstly, no one has yet imposed sanctions against Russian businessmen.

We, of course, still hope that such insane urges will remain only on the pages of the media and will not find life-giving soil in the American establishment.

Therefore, hypothetical reasoning is hardly appropriate here.

Let's still wait and see how events will develop, ”said Peskov.

According to him, Moscow is "working out various scenarios" in the event of the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions in order to best protect the interests of the country, Russian citizens and business.

He also called "absolutely groundless and unfounded" accusations against Russia regarding the alleged presence of chemical weapons on the territory of the country.

“There is not and cannot be any data indicating this, real data, because Russia has long since destroyed all stocks of chemical weapons.

And all the programs associated with the production of chemical weapons have been phased out in accordance with Russia's obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention, ”added a Kremlin spokesman.

The day before, Dmitry Peskov noted that Russia "verified" the destruction of all chemical weapons on its territory many years ago, fully complying with the provisions of the CWC, and called the accusations by the United States "an attempt to unsuccessfully camouflage its policy to further contain Russia."

On March 4, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that Washington and London are considering the possibility of introducing new sanctions against Russia, allegedly using chemical weapons.

Various options are being worked out, in particular, restrictions may affect Russian businessmen and the sovereign debt of the Russian Federation.

Recall that on March 2, the United States and the European Union imposed anti-Russian sanctions over the situation with Alexei Navalny.

Washington's list includes seven high-ranking Russian officials and 14 organizations.

Among them are FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov, Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, as well as the 27th Scientific Center of the Ministry of Defense and the State Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology.

In turn, Brussels added to the sanctions list the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov, the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Alexander Kalashnikov and Igor Krasnov.

“We recorded it for the eighth time on a restricted basis, how much can you endure?

It is good that cooperation with Interpol continues, contacts are maintained with colleagues from other countries.

But it’s a little offensive for the state, ”Bastrykin said at a meeting of the Investigative Committee on March 5.

At the same time, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova said on the air of Channel One that Moscow "will soon please" Washington with a response stop-list.

“The work is in progress.

Do not think that if we do not talk about her, then she is not, - said Zakharova.

“Considering their approach to giving all this such an enchanting informational dimension, we, as we like to say, heard and perceived them, too.”

"Sanctioned Vendetta"

According to State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek, blaming Russia for all the troubles has become a separate line of Western policy.

“There is a deliberate undermining of state foundations due to sanctions pressure, accusations and outright lies.

They want world domination, but the Russian Federation does not want to be someone's servant - this is the main reason for their aggressive policy.

They dream of a coup in our country, and we have already seen, using the example of Ukraine, how a whole nation has become hostage to politicians, "he said in an interview with RT.

In turn, Konstantin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, believes that the sanctions flywheel will be spun by the West even more actively.

“Washington continues to pursue a real sanctions vendetta, and it will continue to pursue it, because the United States has no other instruments, except for sanctions pressure and elements of a hybrid war against Russia.

We are accused of all mortal sins, and no proof is required.

In the West, everyone is ready for this post-truth and takes it for granted.

It is clear that Biden positions himself as a unifier not only of the United States, but of the entire Western world on an anti-Russian, anti-Chinese basis, and sanctions are an element of uniting this transatlantic community, so sanctions will be strengthened, "the interlocutor of RT explained.

Nikita Danyuk, Deputy Director of the RUDN Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts, a member of the Public Chamber, has little doubt that the United States and Great Britain will soon adopt new sanctions against Russia.

“They need to constantly maintain the anti-Russian rhetoric at a high level, if this is not done, then the seriousness of your intentions will cease to be taken seriously, they begin to think that you yourself do not believe in these accusations. Therefore, it is such a flywheel that must always turn, ”he stressed.
