Sparneck (dpa / lby) - A walker found an American bazooka from the Second World War in a wooded area in Upper Franconia.
The so-called "Rocket" was badly corroded, the police said on Thursday.
According to the information, since it was not possible to defuse it at the site in Sparneck, the bazooka was blown up.
A district road had to be temporarily closed on Wednesday.
The explosion by the ordnance disposal service from Nuremberg went according to plan, it said.
A tree with the bazooka was damaged.
