Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, does not care what she wears, because female leaders often refuse to scrutinize her appearance, because she believes that it makes her gender biased, and that it distracts attention from her ideas and accomplishments, but she does not knowingly promote the designs of the fashion houses she wears.

Pelosi may not like to talk about her outfit, but she is clearly thinking about what to wear. She wore a fuchsia dress, by Swiss label "Acres", especially for the oath party for her third appointment as speaker in 2019, according to a person familiar with the deal.

Pelosi remained largely silent when her clothes drew attention, last December, when she left the White House wearing a red wool coat and sunglasses, with her eyes on the glow of victory, after she asked the former president, Donald Trump, to assume responsibility for the upcoming government shutdown. Because of his insistence on building the border wall with Mexico, her pictures, as well as her coat, were widely shared.

It later emerged that the red coat was from the designs of the Italian fashion house "Max Mara", and the Italian brand, which received many requests, promised to reissue the design, so that the designer, Ian Griffiths, at Max Mara, explicitly adopted Pelosi as an inspiration for the group. Fall 2019 opens in Milan in February in three bold colors: turquoise, blue and cornflower, the kind Pelosi prefers.

Fashion craze

Recently, InStyle magazine announced a new fashion craze called the "Pelosi Power Scarf", which sent a wave of madness among women who flocked to get the same silk piece.

And when actresses Julia Roberts, Helen Mirren, Angela Bassett, and a number of other famous women wore pink dresses at the Oscars in February, Pelosi was widely credited with sparking the trend with her fuchsia acres.

While the spokeswoman may not admit it, her court choices at the same time convey a message, "She is conservative without being boring," says fashion consultant Jill Tottenberg, who also says of her that she is a woman who is not afraid to show her beauty, but rather "It raises strength."

For the creative director of the Italian fashion house "Max Mara", Ian Griffiths, the dress Pelosi wore on that occasion sparked a global frenzy, and they called it the "red flaming coat".

Griffiths recalls his memories on the phone from his office: “It was 7 pm, and I got a phone call from the US Communications Office. I had just come home from work in Reggio Emilia, northern Italy, and I was about to change my pants, which reached my knees. "The caller wants to make sure that the coat is of our design. Then more and more calls came to provide quotations. I spent the whole evening wandering around my apartment with my pants around my ankle, because I didn't have time to take it off."
