Pusignan town hall

An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie.

This Thursday morning, the lifeless body of Pierre Grossat, the mayor of Pusignan, was discovered at his home.

This 57-year-old farmer, involved in the life of this town located near Lyon for about thirty years, won the municipal elections with his “apolitical and citizen” list.

According to

Le Progrès,

the circumstances of his death are not known, but the trail of suicide has not been ruled out.

This Thursday noon, the gendarmes were still at his home, located in the center of the village.

The Lyon prosecutor's office also visited the site.

Since this morning, messages are linked on social networks and the Facebook page of the town hall, which announced the dramatic news, to pay tribute to a "passionate", "frank" and "rigorous" man.

The fifty-year-old won the head of town hall last June with six votes ahead of his opponent Brigitte Emain.

The day after the elections, the latter had seized the administrative court of Lyon to cancel the ballot.

In vain.

She then lodged a petition with the Council of State, whose public rapporteur recently spoke in favor of the election being annulled.

The court's decision was expected soon.
