Greiz (dpa / th) - In the district of Greiz, the short interlude with open schools and kindergartens has already ended.

Because the incidence value of 200 for new corona infections is exceeded, the schools in the eastern Thuringian district have to close again, as the district administration announced on Thursday.

This is planned for next Monday (March 8th).

The district office announced a corresponding general order.

In Thuringia schools have to close if the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is over 200 within seven days.

This value was exceeded in the Greiz district on Wednesday, and on Thursday it fell back below 200.

With values between 150 and 200, the districts have a leeway to decide how to proceed with the opening of schools and kindergartens.

Daycare centers and primary schools in Thuringia were only reopened for limited regular operations on Monday a week ago, and grades 5 and higher have followed since the beginning of this week, depending on the infection situation on site.

In addition to Greiz, the school traffic light also shows red again or still in the districts of Schmalkalden-Meiningen, Saale-Orla, Kyffhäuser and Hildburghausen.
