Münster (dpa / lnw) - In view of the prospect of easing for municipalities with a low corona incidence, Münster's Mayor Markus Lewe continues to urge restraint.

"We are far from over the mountain," said the CDU politician on Thursday the radio station WDR2.

He still misses concepts for “intelligent digital tracking” in the previous resolutions.

He is also critical of sticking to the incidence figures.

With a value of just under 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past week, Münster is well below the North Rhine-Westphalian state average of 62.8.

He sees no problem in reopening museums and zoos as well as retail and gastronomy with their outdoor areas in a responsible manner, said Lewe.

But there are also problems that have to be solved: "If I create a kind of gravitational field here and everyone streams here, then of course I have little control over it," Lewe continued.

He therefore advocates more digital tracking and access only to those who can prove that they are not infectious.

These could be PCR tests, rapid tests, but also proof of vaccination or survived corona infections.

"To come to such systems, at least for the transitional period, I miss that a little," he said.

Together with the mayors of Rostock and Tübingen, Lewe had spoken out in favor of more responsibility for the municipalities at the beginning of the week.
