Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's industrial association chief Matthias Boxberger has welcomed the step-by-step plan agreed by the federal and state governments for easing the corona restrictions.

"Moderate easing is now the right way and the order of the day," he said on Thursday.

The number of infections is still too high and the development of the virus mutants too unclear to implement complete relaxation.

In order to achieve a “new normal”, more speed is needed for vaccinations and tests.

"With vaccinations, distance rules and quick and self-tests can be ensured that we can permanently live and work with the virus," he said.

Hamburg's industry can adjust to this "if politicians do their homework".
