Several security guards were injured in a dispute on Ballindamm in downtown Hamburg on Wednesday evening.

According to initial findings, around 8:20 p.m., three employees of a private security service asked a group of around ten young people to leave the underpass that connects the Europapassage shopping center and Jungfernstieg station.

According to a police spokeswoman, the young people smoked in the tunnel and did not wear face masks.

As the guards escorted the group out, two of the youths suddenly attacked two guards.

The two 20-year-old security guards were slightly injured.

At the same time, her 59-year-old colleague collapsed unconscious without being attacked.

The young people then fled.

The 59-year-old was reanimated in the tunnel between Ballindamm and Europapassage and is in mortal danger.

He allegedly suffered from a previous illness.

The police are now addicted to witnesses and video recordings of the incident.

The other two slightly injured security guards were treated by an ambulance crew on site or on an outpatient basis in a hospital, said the spokeswoman.

Despite a large-scale manhunt, the suspects could not be found.

According to the police, the investigation is now being carried out by a department responsible for juvenile delinquency.

In the evening the case had been followed by the detective service.

"The wanted perpetrators are said to be Mediterranean-looking men and a woman between the ages of 16 and 20," said the spokeswoman.

Witnesses who can provide information about the refugees or the crime are asked by the police to report to the Hamburg police information hotline on 040-428656789 or to a police station.

In particular, they are looking for witnesses who may have made private recordings of the attack on the three guards.
