The accident took place at an intersection on highway 50, at the height of Bältarbo at 18.30.
This is a side collision with a total of three people involved.
A person must be trapped in one of the cars.
- We are currently cutting the roof of one of the cars, says Johan Nordin, operations manager at Dala Mitt.
At 18.50, the rescue service informed that there is a complete stop in both directions along the road at least one hour ahead during the rescue and salvage work.
The preliminary end time is 20.30.
Several ambulances, including an ambulance helicopter, have been sent to the accident site.
