Despite contamination figures well below the national average, "vigilance remains in order" in the fight against the coronavirus in Loire-Atlantique, repeat the authorities.

Noting the presence of groups of people on the banks of the Erdre and the Loire on sunny days, the prefect of the department, Didier Martin, therefore decided to ban the consumption of alcoholic products on the banks in Nantes.

This ban on consumption on public roads begins this Friday morning and remains in effect until April 5, at least.

It applies to all the banks of the Loire in Nantes, but also those of the Erdre, from the cours des 50-Otages to the Jonelière bridge.

Square Daviais, Square Elisa-Mercoeur, Quai de Turenne and Parvis Neptune are also concerned.

No festive musical gatherings

"The police have been making a little more verbalizations for a few days, we should not witness a relaxation of behavior", comments the prefect.

In addition, still in this logic of "limiting any behavior likely to increase the risk of contagion", the prefect of Loire-Atlantique has also decided to prohibit throughout the department, until April 6, festive gatherings of a nature. musical.

Rave parties and other

sound systems

are mainly targeted.
