The mayor (PS) of Paris Anne Hidalgo, who will "always block the far right, whatever happens", wants to propose "another path" for the presidential election for which she will position herself "at the 'autumn,' she said in an interview with Le Parisien on Thursday.

To "repair the links between the French", the mayor of the capital places two themes at the top of her political agenda: "to give back their pride to those who are always the forgotten, the middle classes and the popular categories, and to put the ecology in the service of economic and social progress. Ecology must be our backbone and solidarity our compass ".

The former labor inspector received the 2020 Political Personality of the Year award from the Trombinoscope on Wednesday for her re-election as head of the Paris executive.

For several weeks, she has regularly laid the groundwork for the presidential election of 2022. "I will travel a lot in cities and rural areas and wherever I am invited to listen, discuss, exchange, understand", explains t -she before specifying her calendar: "until the summer, a lot of travel, and in the fall we may have things to say to each other."

On the health crisis, the mayor of Paris, who reiterated on Monday his opposition to the confinement of the capital at the weekend, speaks out in a simultaneous forum published by Le Monde in favor of a "zero Covid" strategy which "must be conducted at European Union level ".

"We have eight weeks ahead of us to drastically accelerate vaccination and our collective immunity and initiate a + zero Covid + strategy by avoiding confinements. Let’s work together and meet in May to prepare for the future. will then allow the implementation of a + zero Covid + strategy to resume the normal course of our lives ", claims the elected socialist.

This strategy is understood as the desire to reduce the circulation of the coronavirus to zero thanks to strict measures taken as soon as cases appear, combined with a drastic control of the foci of infection (test, trace, isolate).

At the same time, normal life can continue in areas where the virus is not circulating.
