Trient / Berlin (dpa) - The quarter-finals of the Volleyball Champions League were the final destination for the Berlin Volleys.

The ten-time German champions lost the second leg in the round of the best eight teams at Trentino Volley on Thursday with 0: 3 (22:25, 21:25, 14:25).

After the 1: 3 defeat in the first game a week earlier, it was already clear that Berlin would be eliminated after the first two lost sets in Trento.

Because of the stable acceptance of the Bundesliga third this time, the Italians had to work hard for a long time to advance.

After an ace from Samuel Tuia to 11:11, the BR Volleys took the lead for the first time through the Frenchman Timothee Carle.

They later expanded this to two points (19:17).

But in the crucial phase of the first round, the attacking hosts turned out to be more serene.

Trentino also had a lot of trouble with the disrespectful outsider in the second section.

After a block by Tuia against Ricardo Lucarelli, the Berliners were 11: 8 ahead, they kept the event balanced until 20:20.

A little later, a mistake by Libero Julian Zenger gave the opponent a decisive two-point lead.

The Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz used the set ball to lead to 2-0.

That made it perfect for Trentino's semi-finals.

As a result, a game with a test game character developed.

Both coaches mostly offered their reservists in the final section.

The hosts, who meet SSM Perugia in an all-Italian duel in the semi-finals, clearly dominated.
