[Explanation] Recently, Hu Gang, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and President of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency in Nanjing that China has made great achievements in fighting the new crown pneumonia epidemic and coordinating economic and social development. It is necessary to intensify the development of public health undertakings and further give full play to the role of traditional Chinese medicine.

At the meeting this year, he carefully prepared three proposals.

I prepared three proposals this year. One is about education, the other is about elderly care services and health, and the third is about the role and status of Chinese medicine in the construction of the public health system.
Regarding (the first proposal) education, I suggest that relevant government departments delegate more autonomy to colleges and universities, and do a good job in "delegating management and service" services to ensure that the vast number of scientific and technological personnel in colleges and universities can stimulate the vitality of original innovation; the second proposal (Elderly care services and health), I wrote some suggestions to cultivate talents at all levels from management services to health management to improve the talent team in Jiangsu and even the whole country for elderly care services and health management; the third proposal proposes that Chinese medicine should participate Traditional Chinese medicine should not be absent from the whole process of epidemic prevention and disease treatment, as well as the daily "combination of peace and war," and should play an important role.
[Commentary] Summing up the experience of fighting the "epidemic", preventing and suppressing the "resurgence" of the epidemic, Hu Gang talked about his views.

Our Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine has not only played an important role in achieving zero infection and zero death in Jiangsu, but also demonstrated the important role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in epidemic prevention and control in Hubei.
In the process of prevention and control of the new crown epidemic of Chinese medicine, a number of good prescriptions or compound medicines have emerged.
[Explanation] Looking back on 2020, Hu Gang said that China’s "anti-epidemic" struggle was arduous. In the face of previously unknown, sudden and raging natural disasters, the people across the country worked together to overcome the difficulties, and the battle against the epidemic was achieved. Major strategic achievements, China’s fight against the epidemic has fully demonstrated China’s governance capabilities and overall national strength.
Of course, in this process, let us directly see the shortcomings in the development of public health.
