At a time when the legendary Juventus goalkeeper Buffon did not win the UEFA Champions League trophy lift over the course of a 20-year career, he won the title and some players who had fallen from the memory of the crowd, because of their limited talent, were awarded the championship medal;

Some of them have even become the subject of ridicule.

The British newspaper "Mirror" (Mirror) listed the worst 6 players who won the Champions League, and who won the championship medal in the past ten years, and they are as follows:

1- Alberto Moreno (Liverpool)

The Spaniard arrived in Merseyside with an excellent reputation after winning the European League with Sevilla in 2014.

However, Moreno failed to prove himself and booked a seat in Liverpool's starting line-up, becoming addicted to the bench, and was privileged to be a non-stadium substitute in the 2019 UEFA Champions League final against Tottenham.

Moreno won the title and the medal with the Reds;

But his joy lasted only 3 days, as he was dispensed for free after a failed trial with Liverpool.

2.Kiko Casela (Real Madrid)

Goalkeeper Casella remained on the bench, as Los Blancos beat Liverpool in the 2018 final;

But he won the European title with the Royal, just like Ronaldo.

During the 3 and a half years Casella did not participate in the Bernabeu, only in 25 games in the Spanish League, despite the departure of Iker Casillas, and turned into a source of ridicule Al Jahir.

3- Jes Rodriguez (Real Madrid)

With his Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain jerseys on, Rodriguez has enjoyed an impressive CV only on paper;

On the ground, however, he was an unimpressive player.

Injuries reduced the times he played for Real;

But he crowned his career with the crowning of the European Championship with the Royal in 2016, after which he joined the French League champion, where he participated in only 18 matches in 4 years.

"They cut my body by scattering it under the ground. Do not bury all this bad luck in one hole."

This was followed by failed loan spells to Las Palmas, Stoke City, Real Betis and Sporting, and were his most unsuccessful experiences in the Premier League.

Rodriguez, who is currently only 28 years old, plays in the Spanish second division, without anyone even caring about his presence.

4- Jeremy Matteo (Barcelona)

The submerged defender remained 12 years old with only one title;

But his life changed after moving to Barcelona in 2014, where he won his first season in the Spanish League and the Champions League.

Jérémy Mathieu (former Barça): "I had a very bad time during my last year at Barça. I had the feeling that the defeat in Turin was my fault, but I don't understand why they constantly blamed me, in football you play with 11 players.

And unlike his predecessors in the list of worst, Matteo actually participated in the final, playing as a substitute for Neymar in stoppage time;

To be crowned with the title, and then go into oblivion.

Admit it

5- Ross Turnbull (Chelsea)

Turnbull's joining of Chelsea in 2009 was strange to a goalkeeper who, throughout his career with Cardiff City and Doncaster Rovers, had played less than 200 games;

But he joined in any case to fail more.

The funny thing is that Turnbull issued warnings after joining Chelsea that he had come to compete with veteran goalkeeper Peter Cech for the number 1 jersey;

But he failed miserably, and did not participate with the Blues in only 19 matches throughout 4 seasons.

Despite his failure at Chelsea, he ended his career with two medals, winning the FA Cup and the Champions League with the team after the dramatic blues' victory in a penalty shootout 4-3 over Bayern Munich in 2012 at the Allianz Arena.

6- Ibrahim Avilay (Barcelona)

The second player to move from the Champions League champions to the outcast Stoke City, Avelai did not live up to his remarkable potential as a promising young man after his distinguished appearance on the scene with PSV, although he fulfilled his dream of moving to Camp Nou in 2010.

The strange thing is that the place he dreamed of ended in his promising story, as he did not show any distinction, so his participation with coach Pep Guardiola was a late substitute in some matches, and his participation did not exceed 35 matches with the Blaugrana;

However, he won the UEFA Champions League with the team in 2011.

Avilay retired from the ball last month after a failed career for more than a decade, in which he played only 94 matches, as loan spells from Barcelona to Schalke 04 and Olympiacos failed to return to his starting point.

He moved to Stoke City in 2015; But he failed miserably to move away from the first team and play with Stoke City for 23 years, before returning to PSV Eindhoven in 2019 for a season, after which he announced his retirement from the ball permanently.
