From thousands of customers a day to around fifteen.

The company Grensemat, with several stores in Strömstad, basically lost all its sales when the pandemic took off last year and it has notified around 230 people, half of its staff.

Operations Manager Göran Lundberg is now critical of the government, and above all the governor, for how they have handled Strömstad's situation during the pandemic.

- He has a municipality that is completely knocked out, then you expect him to show a little more commitment, Lundberg says.

Visited Strömstad

Governor Anders Danielsson visited Strömstad in May last year.

After that, he has had several meetings online with municipal representatives.

Not enough, according to Lundberg.

- That you do not take the time to come here is depressing.

A picture says more than a thousand words, if you had come here you would have gained more grounding in reality.

It is depressing that tax money goes to something that shows such poor interest.

But the governor himself rejects the criticism.

The region is large, many areas are having a hard time - and the pandemic puts a stop to physical visits.

Therefore, the work is much more digital now.

- I can understand that there is a value to being physically in place, but I think I do more good in other ways, says Governor Anders Danielsson.

Celebrate the Svinesund Bridge

Göran Lundberg believes and hopes that the border will be opened and trade will pick up in May.

Just over a month later, the old Svinesund Bridge turns 75 years old, an excellent opportunity according to Lundberg to celebrate.

- I hope that people talk to each other about visions before an opening and that they can turn it into a party atmosphere and get back the sibling relationship we have had, he says.
