It became an overwhelming task to manage the expectations of 30,000 people who wanted the vaccine, while only 1,700 doses were available in the county.

So the booking that opened on Tuesday was closed later that day.

- Many tried to book and did not find times, says Karin Sellgren.

Later in the day, an error was discovered in the online booking system that made it possible to double book appointments.

- This meant that we suddenly had the wrong bookings than vaccines to vaccinate with.

Now the booking has closed and the region will handle the work manually.

Everyone who belongs to phase 2 will instead be contacted by the region.

The oldest in the group get the vaccine first.

"Had hoped for understanding"

The equation with 1700 doses and an invitation to 30,000 people does not go together.

How did you think there?

- We had probably hoped for an understanding that times would come gradually.

But that communication has obviously not been really clear on our part, states Karin Sellgren.

What could you have done differently?

-

Maybe we should have sent out fewer letters, to a smaller group of people in the first place.

Why have you not made the prioritization - now it will be first come, first served?

- We discussed it, but the vaccinations are voluntary and we saw a risk that we would be sitting with rebookings.
