- It feels very good that you train your body more than usual, says Piotr Hudzik who goes to class 4E.

The bicycle bench will be at the front of the classroom and students will be encouraged to take turns cycling.

It is quiet and does not interfere with teaching.

Physical activity helps students stay focused during lessons.

- We will start the children's everyday exercise.

The sedentary child must become active, says teacher Anna Berg Wiesel to SVT.

The project is part of the teaching concept Maker Tour - Towards New Heights, whose purpose is to get students interested in science subjects.

The Kronoberg Region, the Technical Museum and Linnaeus University are behind the initiative.

The classes will tread 300 miles

All classes that have received a bicycle now compete against each other in cycling as far as possible.

The goal is for the children to cycle 300 km together for two weeks.

- The students will cycle across Australia from the classroom, says project manager Malin Wass to SVT.

A total of six classes in Kronoberg have each won a bike through a lottery.

The cost per bike is SEK 7,000 sponsored by local companies.
