Road Safety is organizing the 5th edition of its innovation competition on Wednesday.

Europe 1 presents two of the candidates, whose devices aim to secure two-wheeled drivers and better protect pedestrians.

Road Safety rewards innovations.

Its annual award is due on Wednesday, and will reward six initiatives.

Among the candidates, we find in particular the device "Sentinel", supposed to secure the drivers of two-wheelers.

During the journey, the two on-board cameras, the size of a coffee capsule, record the surroundings of the two-wheeler, and the videos are then transmitted by an antenna, also miniaturized.

These images are essential in the event of a dispute during an accident and also in the event of a fall, explains Thomas Bilger, co-founder of the company Sentidrive.

"The box will record the 8 seconds before the fall and the 8 seconds after the fall. These two files will be transferred directly by 4G to our secure server, which will allow us to have proof, whatever the situation", explains it at Europe 1.

An innovation to protect pedestrians

Another innovation, this time to secure pedestrians who cross the nose on their phone.

The latter receives a notification, a vibration and an alarm in the event of danger, thanks to ultrasound sent at the right time by a traffic light or by a bus.

"On the RATP buses, it is when they press the horn that the ultrasound is emitted which can carry a distance of 80 meters when the vehicle is traveling at 50 km / h", describes Emmanuel Ruiz, the founder of the start-up Copsonic.

This device has been tested for 3 months, in particular around secondary schools in Île-de-France.

Teens find it, it seems, useful and "very fun".
