Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Because of a spectacular break-in in a jewelry store in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel, a 36-year-old man has to answer before the Frankfurt Regional Court from Wednesday.

The prosecution accuses him of breaking into the jewelry retailer's premises together with an already convicted accomplice in May 2019 via a nearby and easily accessible construction site.

A hole was broken in the wall.

After the exhausting action, the burglars made rich booty: jewelry worth 510,000 euros, almost 20,000 euros in cash and diamonds worth more than 10,000 euros (file number 6340 Js 236033/19).

The criminal chamber has initially scheduled two more trial days until mid-March.
