Hamburg (dpa) - The Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg wants to announce its verdict today in the process of alleging a violation of the EU-Russia embargo.

The federal prosecutor's office accuses a 41-year-old entrepreneur from Bavaria of having sold and delivered machine tools in seven cases for a total price of almost eight million euros to two Russian companies in Yekaterinburg.

The machines could have been used in the manufacture of missile technology.

The federal prosecutor's office has demanded four and a half years in prison and the confiscation of the proceeds.

The 40-year-old co-defendant is said to have supported the illegal business as a consultant as a sales representative for a German company in Russia.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office applied for two years' probation for commercial money laundering with a payment requirement of 150,000 euros and the confiscation of 271,000 euros.

The defense also advocated suspended sentences of two years for the main defendant and one year and eight months for the co-defendant.

The 41-year-old was arrested in Augsburg in February of last year, the 40-year-old in June in Munich.

The process takes place before the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court because the deliveries are said to have been processed in part via the Lübeck-Hafen customs office.
