Erwitte (dpa / lnw) - A five-year-old boy who was hit by an excavator on his bicycle in Erwitte (Soest district) was very lucky.
The toddler staggered towards the heavy work equipment on Tuesday afternoon when the excavator driver just saw him at work out of the corner of his eye, the police said.
Despite the immediate emergency braking, the excavator rolled over the children's bike.
But the boy fell between the front and rear tires and was only slightly injured.
After an on-site treatment, a transport to the hospital was no longer necessary.
