On the basis of these accusations, the Digos of the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, carried out a precautionary detention order issued against six people.
Against them, the investigating judge at the Court of the Calabrian city, accepting the requests of the Public Prosecutor who coordinates the investigations, ordered the precautionary measure of house arrest, and, in one case, the interdictive measure of the suspension from the exercise of the public .
The operation refers
to the alleged electoral fraud detected on the occasion of the municipal elections that took place in Reggio Calabria in September 2020
.
Political controversy has raged over the affair in the Calabrian city since the day after the vote.
As part of the same investigation, last December, two arrests were made.
