Ile-de-France residents will have to take a good look at the sticker stuck on their car.

The Paris police prefect has just decided to set up differentiated traffic in Ile-de-France from this Wednesday.

The measure is in place until the end of the fine particle pollution episode affecting the region, the prefecture announced on Tuesday.

Differentiated traffic is valid "within the perimeter delimited by the A86 (to the exclusion of this one)", indicates the prefecture.

Within this perimeter, “only vehicles fitted with a Crit'Air class 0, 1 and 2 sticker will be authorized to circulate” between 5.30 am and midnight.

Maximum speeds will also be reduced by 20 km / h, dropping to 110, 90 or 70 km / h, depending on the road axes.

The current episode of PM 10 fine particle pollution is linked to "wood heating, road traffic and an import of Saharan sand", adds the prefecture.

"The weather conditions do not allow effective dispersion of pollutants," she continues.

Airparif, which monitors air quality in Ile-de-France, predicts a level of PM10 particle concentration between 50 and 65 μg / m3, ie an exceeding of the “information and recommendation” threshold, set at 50 μg / m3.

Favor teleworking and carpooling

The prefecture also recommends to “limit as much as possible” car travel, to favor teleworking, and, “if necessary” to practice carpooling “while respecting barrier gestures”.

Other restrictive measures were taken, in particular the prohibition of individual wood heating.

The prefecture specifies that it will put in place controls to ensure compliance with these measures.
