Dresden (dpa / sn) - Unknown perpetrators pelted a new hotel building with paint bags on Wednesday night in Dresden and smashed numerous windows.
According to initial estimates, damage of several tens of thousands of euros was caused, the public prosecutor said.
After a political motive could not be ruled out, the Police Terrorism and Extremism Defense Center (PTAZ) of the State Criminal Police Office took over the case.
It will also be checked whether there is a connection with comparable incidents in the past.
However, this can currently neither be confirmed nor denied.
The police are now looking for possible witnesses to the incident.
When exactly the color was applied is currently unknown.
