Berlin / Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse, 831 new infections with the corona virus were registered within one day.

The so-called seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, was 65.5 nationwide, according to data from the Berlin Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Wednesday (as of 03:10).

On Tuesday the value was 64.7.

A total of 189,743 cases have been detected in Hesse since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of deaths related to the virus rose 34 to 5,877.

Among the rural districts and urban districts, the Lahn-Dill district had the highest incidence value of 117.6.

The Kassel district had the lowest incidence at 33.8.
