Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of confirmed new corona infections in Brandenburg has increased again.

Within one day, 301 new cases were registered, as the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.

The day before it was 157 due to missing data from several districts and cities from the weekend. Most of the infections within the past day occurred in the districts of Teltow-Fläming (37), Elbe-Elster (30) and Dahme-Spreewald (29).

The so-called seven-day incidence for Brandenburg - i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week - has, however, decreased slightly: from 65.3 on Tuesday to 65.2 on Wednesday.

The value is still highest in the districts of Elbe-Elster (130.6) and Oberspreewald-Lausitz (121.6).

The incidence value is important when deciding whether to further relax the corona restrictions.

The federal and state governments had announced that they wanted to reopen retail stores and museums, among other things, within a week if the value remained stable over several days at a maximum of 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

On Wednesday you will again discuss opening prospects.
