Greiz / Gera (dpa / th) - After the violent death of a woman in Greiz, a 40-year-old arrest warrant was issued.
The spokesman for the Gera public prosecutor's office, Thomas Riebel, told the German press agency on Tuesday that the man was being investigated for manslaughter.
He is now in custody in Suhl-Goldlauter.
The man is accused of killing a 60-year-old woman in her apartment on Monday night.
The woman had suffocated, said Riebel.
The accused also dialed the emergency number.
The public prosecutor's office did not provide any information about the relationship between the German and the victim.
At first it was also unclear whether he lived with the woman in the apartment.
