Munich (dpa / lby) - The Bavarian Administrative Court (VGH) has temporarily suspended the obligation to conduct close-knit corona tests for employees in nursing and old people's homes.

From Thursday on, this regulation is initially suspended, as the court announced on Tuesday.

According to the Bavarian Corona Ordinance, employees of old people's and care facilities had to be tested three times a week.

The nursing manager of a home in Lower Franconia had made an urgent application after almost all residents there had been vaccinated against Corona.

However, visitors still have to submit a negative test.

The court rejected the relevant urgent application from a relative.

The duty is currently lawful because it enables important social contacts to be maintained and prevents the residents from becoming isolated.
