Caroline Garcia will face Thursday in the second round the winner of the match between Belarusian Vera Lapko (N.199) and Swiss Viktorija Golubic (N.129) scheduled for Wednesday.

For her part, Kristina Mladenovic, seeded N.4 (N.53), struggling with her throw-in on the first set lost 7-5 managed to react with difficulty to win in turn 7-5 in the second set in which she led 5-2 before Buzarnescu (N.135) managed to equalize (5-5).

Mladenovic then easily won the final set 6-2 after a bout of 2 hours 42 minutes.

She will face the Russian Margarita Gasparyan (N.131) in the next round on Thursday.
