Göppingen (dpa) - The software provider Teamviewer is still on a shopping spree and is expanding the augmented reality area for industry with a takeover in the USA.

The US company Upskill offers real-time interfaces via data glasses and other mobile devices that can be useful for skilled workers and maintenance teams, among other things, as Teamviewer announced in Göppingen on Tuesday.

"Upskill complements us perfectly, as the software is used in industries such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals & life sciences, retail and claims management in insurance," said Teamviewer boss Oliver Steil.

The companies didn't want to reveal how much Teamviewer the new addition will cost.

The MDax company had already strengthened itself in this area last autumn with the acquisition of the Bremen software company Ubimax.

Teamviewer wants to grow, among other things, with offers for the control and maintenance of machines and industrial plants and thus expand its position with larger customers.
