Ostia (dpa / bb) - Water polo record champions Spandau 04 celebrated their first victory in the fifth game of the Champions League main round.

After three defeats and a draw, Berlin won 12: 6 against CC Ortigia on Tuesday in Ostia, Italy, 12: 6 (4: 2.4: 1.2: 3.2: 0).

Spandau now has four points on the account and the vague chances of reaching Final 8 in the royal competition in Hanover at the beginning of June, in which the four first of the two main round groups move in.

The goals for Berlin were scored by Lucas Gielen, Nikola Dedovic, Denis Strelezkij, Marin Restovic (2 each) and Mateo Cuk, Dmitri Kholod, Maurice Jüngling and Marko Stamm (1 each).

On Wednesday and Thursday Spandau will be challenged in two more games against favorites Jug Dubrovnik (Wednesday, 5.45 p.m.) and Olympiacos Piraeus (Thursday, 5.45 p.m.).

In April (April 19-22) the third tournament of the main round (games against Genoa, Marseille, Ortigia) is on the program again in Ostia.
