Despite the last week's warm spring weather, there was still snow left in Svartbäcksmåla on Sunday.

And it was lucky when there were about forty people on site to try biathlon.

Due to the prevailing pandemic, they were divided into smaller groups.

"Difficult but fun"

One who tested was Stina Lundqvist who is part of Nybro Ski's youth group.

- It was fun!

Difficult but fun, she says.

Biathlete Meja Naucler agrees with Stina Lundqvist that the biathlon debut was fun but difficult.

- You shook your hand like that and then it went outside, says Meja Naucler.

Skiing in Småland

Thommy Eventorn, who is chairman of Nybro Ski, says that you can go cross-country skiing in principle every year also in Småland.

He explains that if it is a snow-poor year, it is possible to get to ski tracks with the help of artificial snow.

- We have been working here in Svartbäcksmåla for 26-27 years with artificial snow and it is only a few years that we have not had a trace, he says.
