Gelsenkirchen (AP) - Bundesliga soccer club FC Schalke 04 is facing a commitment from Dimitrios Grammozis as the new head coach, according to media reports.

As «Bild» and «Ruhr Nachrichten» unanimously report, the 42-year-old is to succeed Christian Gross, who was released on Sunday, at the Revierclub, which is at risk of relegation.

According to this, the former coach of second division Darmstadt 98 should stand the remaining eleven games of the season on the sidelines and initiate the rebuilding in the coming season.

According to the club, training on Tuesday will be led by Mike Büskens and Onur Cinel, as on the day before.

Grammozis would be the fifth Schalke coach this season after David Wagner, Manuel Baum, Huub Stevens and Christian Gross.

He had already been traded as a coach candidate for the bottom of the table last autumn.

According to the reports, only a few details remain to be clarified between the club and the football teacher.
