Erfurt (dpa / th) - In the wage dispute in the metal and electrical industry, the first warning strikes have started in Thuringia.

On Tuesday morning at 5.30 a.m., around 200 employees of the automotive supplier MDC Power in Kölleda stopped work for one and a half hours, as the first authorized representative of IG Metall Erfurt, Ilko Vehlow, said.

At the auto supplier Norma in Gerbershausen, 50 employees stayed away from work.

Vehlow announced further warning strikes every day for the current week.

Among other things, Schuler AG in Erfurt, Siemens AG in Erfurt and Waltershausen, Hydrema in Weimar and individual Bosch companies could be affected.

In Thuringia, the negotiations for a new collective agreement for around 20,000 employees in the metal and electrical industry are stalling: in mid-February, the third round of negotiations was broken off without a result.

The Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry in Thuringia (VMET) had submitted an offer that was already known from other tariff areas.

"Employers have had the nerve to tell us that we should do without," said Vehlow.

You couldn't accept that.

The union is demanding, among other things, around four percent more money with a contract term of one year.

She has also brought a reduction in working hours into play.

However, employers insist on a zero round this year.

For the East German collective bargaining areas, it is also about the adjustment of the weekly working hours.

According to Vehlow, the Thuringian metalworkers are currently working three hours a week longer than their West German colleagues with the same earnings.

"Movement just has to come into play."

No new negotiation date has yet been set for Thuringia.
