Belgrade (AP) - The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have scored an important victory in the battle for the playoff places in the Euroleague.

Against the penultimate Red Star Belgrade, trained by former coach Dejan Radonjic, the Bundesliga side struggled for a long time, but won on Tuesday evening with 78:76 (31:35).

Coach Andrea Trinchieri said after the jump to fourth place and the 17th win in the 27th game: “We made the right decisions in the end and never gave up.

That was an important away win for us. "

From Bayern's point of view, the initial phase went largely according to plan, as the home side had to wait six minutes for their first points.

Subsequently, however, the Munich lost too many balls and in defense they gave Belgrade free space.

With an 8-0 run after the break, the Serbs extended their lead to 43:36 (25th).

The Munich residents grew frustrated at times.

Wade Baldwin was given four fouls early on.

On the offensive, however, the playmaker scored important points.

Three minutes before the end he managed to equalize 68:68 with two free throws converted.

In the final phase, the weak hosts did not get a chance, while the Bavarians flipped the switch just in time in the highest European competition.
