Berlin (dpa / bb) - The daycare centers in Berlin should be open to all children again from Tuesday next week.

The Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family announced on Tuesday after a Senate meeting.

The emergency operation ends.

The list of systemically relevant professions as the basis for the right to care for one's own children is no longer used.

A “restricted regular operation under pandemic conditions” is planned.

The infection rate in the Berlin daycare centers had been stable and very low in the past few weeks, the Senate Administration justified its decision.

Berlin had ramped up daycare operations a little from February 22nd.

The utilization of the so-called emergency supply increased from 50 percent of normal capacity to 60 percent.

From next week there will be a "care offer" of at least seven hours per day for all children.

It is also planned that each daycare center offers at least one group with a supervision duration of up to 9 hours.

The care should take place in stable groups as far as possible in order to reduce contacts and thus the risk of infection.
