Frankfurt / Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - On the tenth anniversary of the Islamist-motivated murder attack at Frankfurt Airport, the President of the State of Hesse, Boris Rhein (CDU), warned to be vigilant.

“The act reminds us that our democracy is being questioned and attacked by violent extremists.

We must remain vigilant against all enemies of our liberal society, ”he said on Tuesday in Wiesbaden.

On March 2, 2011, a then 21-year-old attacked an American armed forces bus at the airport and shot two US soldiers in it, and other men were seriously injured.

A court sentenced him to life imprisonment for murder and attempted murder and determined the gravity of the guilt.
