Münster (AP) - In the abuse complex in Münster, the public prosecutor's office demanded a prison sentence of ten years and eight months in the trial against a man from Aachen on Tuesday.

According to a court spokesman, the prosecution also spoke out in favor of subsequent preventive detention.

The 27-year-old is said to have severely sexually abused and raped several children in different locations.

Among them is the foster son of the IT technician from Münster accused in the main process.

In their plea, the defense made no request for the amount of the penalty, but declined preventive detention.

It serves to improve dangerous perpetrators and to protect the general public.

In order to protect the victim, the process took place largely in camera.

The district court wants to give a verdict next Tuesday (9 March).

The man had commented on the allegations.

He also testified as a witness in another trial, which led to the arrest of the main defendant's partner.

She is said not to have prevented the abuse of her own son.

Münster is one of three major cases of abuse in North Rhine-Westphalia in recent years.

The case came to light in June 2020 after investigations into a gazebo.

In the course of this, there had been arrests in several federal states and abroad.

In the “Rose” complex, there are nationwide proceedings against almost 30 suspects.

A man from Schleswig-Holstein has already been sentenced to three years and three months in prison.

He had made a confession and thus spared the victim a testimony in court.

Two men from Hanover were sentenced to prison terms of almost eight and just over four years.

However, these judgments are not yet final.

The main defendant is the IT technician from Münster.

He is said to have offered his foster son to several men for abuse in various places, including in a gazebo in Münster, which has now been demolished.

He also made recordings of the rapes.

The main process is currently running at the Münster Regional Court.

A judgment is expected in the spring.
