The accident occurred around 8.15 am in the living room of the house located on rue Saint-Exupéry.

Four people were inside when the fire started, a 48-year-old mother and her three sons, aged 21, 16 and 9, respectively.

Only the youngest of the family did not manage to get out of the house, hiding under his bed on the first floor.

He was found unconscious by firefighters.

He was first transported to Saint-Brieuc hospital before being transferred by helicopter to Brest hospital where he was placed in a hyperbaric chamber.

Her mother and one of her brothers were more mildly intoxicated.
